PM Modi to give Krishi Karman Awards for enhanced agriculture production

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Krishi Karman Awards and Commendation Awards to states at a public meeting on December 2, in Tumkur Karnataka. The programme also witnessed the launch of the third installment of PM Kisan (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) of 2000 rupees for the period of December 2019 to March 2020.

This will benefit nearly six crore beneficiaries. Prime Minister will also give Certificates to beneficiaries under PM Kisan from eight States and Union territories. The installment is provided to assure income aid to the small and marginal farmers. Under the scheme, 6000 rupees per year are given to farmers in three equal installments of 2000 rupees each.

At the same the event, PM also handed over the Keys of Deep Sea fishing Vessels and Fishing Vessel Transponders to select farmers of Tamil Nadu.

Besides, he even distributed Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) to select farmers of Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Gadduge of the 111-year-old seer of Siddaganga Matt, where the late Shivakumar Swamiji is laid to rest in Tumkuru. He also planted a sapling of Bilva patre near the gadduge and lay the foundation stone for a museum where the belongings of the late seer will be displayed. The Prime Minister also interacted with the students at the matt.

Prime Minister, thereafter, participated in the Karman award function at the Junior college ground in Tumkuru. Chief Minister of Karnataka, Manipur and Jharkhand and Governor of Uttarakhand were also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister gave away awards to 28 progressive farmers from 21 states. Elaborate security arrangement is made here as nearly a lakh people gathered on the grounds.
