The nano-tech based fertilizers launched by the Indian Famers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) have come out well in the trials being carried out across the country extensively.

In order to improve the farms’ productivity, leading fertilizer cooperative IFFCO has manufactured products with nano-technology in November 2019. These products include:

  • Nano-Nitrogen
  • Nano-Zinc
  • Nano-Copper

These nanostructured formulations have been developed indigenously at IFFCO’s Kalol Unit (Gujarat).

As per IFFCO’s claims, the nano-tech based products are helpful in increasing the yield of the crops, besides providing required nutrients to plants. These products are also likely to decrease the usage of conventional chemical fertilisers.

Other benefits include improvement in the soil health, reduced green-house gases emissions and improved plants’ immunity against the harmful pathogens.

IFFCO is an incorporation of more than 35,000 cooperatives. It is, at present, operating five fertilisers plants in India.
