Canada-based Organigram Holdings Inc acquired The Edibles & Infusions Corp (EIC) in a $27.88 million stock deal, as the licensed medical marijuana producer of dried cannabis and cannabis oil looks to tap growing demand for pot-based edibles and soft chews.
According to experts, the acquisition deal broadens the Canadian firm’s continuum of product offerings, providing an operational footprint in Western Canada.
Last month, BAT (British American Tobacco) Group announced the signing of a strategic collaboration agreement with Organigram, with focus on R&D activities of next-gen adult cannabis products.
