Urging residents not to plant seeds from unsolicited packages, the Washington State Department of Agriculture stated that they could be invasive plant species.

In a Facebook post, the department said that “unsolicited seeds could introduce diseases to local plants, or be harmful to livestock.”

The department further recommended that residents should report the matter to USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and maintain the seeds and packaging until USDA instructs them what to do with the packages and seeds.
