In order to support agricultural productivity and enhance smallholder farmers’ access to markets in Sierra Leone, the World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved a $30 million International Development Association (IDA) grant.

This additional financing would bolster the investment in roads and bridges to improve connectivity thereby providing access to more remote areas of high agricultural production.

It will also help build critical bridges across key river crossing points currently served by manual cable ferries.
