In a bid to intensify the crackdown against the sale of adulterated edible oils, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) conducted a pan-India survey of both branded and unbranded products. More than 4,500 samples were collected covering a total of 16 varieties of edible oils.
The nationwide quality survey was been carried out for the first time between August 25 and August 27.
According to the food safety authority, this exercise has been undertaken in order to ensure availability of pure and safe edible vegetable oils in the country.
