Indian Agriculture Minister Mr Narendra Singh Tomar will virtually inaugurate the programme on September 2 to mark “World Coconut Day” under the theme “Invest in coconut to save the world”.

The theme was announced in tandem with the call of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for investments aimed at strengthening the resilience and growth potential of poor rural people.

During FY 2019-20, the export of coconut products (excluding coir items) was valued at about ₹1,760 crores. India is one of the global leaders in coconut production and productivity.
