Charlie McConalogue is Ireland’s new Agriculture Minister
Charlie McConalogue has been appointed as Ireland’s new Agriculture Minister to replace Dara Calleary who had to resign after attending a golf dinner with more than 80 people.
Mr Charlie studied at Carndonagh Community School before going to University College Dublin for his further studies.
In 2009, McConalogue was elected to Donegal County Council and also served as deputy mayor of the council.
Announcing his nomination, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said Mr McConalogue has a deep and broad knowledge of his portfolio which also oversees Food and Marine.
