First Farmers Science Congress Session on January 6

With an aim on Rural Development through Science and Technology, for the very first time, a Farmers Science Congress is being organised. It will cover themes varying from farmers innovation on integrated agriculture and entrepreneurship for doubling farmers income, climate change, biodiversity, conservation, ecosystem services & farmers empowerment to agrarian distress, rural bio-entrepreneurship, policy problems.

Many experts and scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) along with farmers whose innovative approaches have led to significant contributions in this sector will be present at the event.

India’s largest annual gathering of scientific luminaries from countries around the globe, the ‘107th Indian Science Congress’, is being organised from January 3 to 7, 2020 at University of Agricultural Sciences (UASB), GKVK Campus, Bangalore, Karnataka focusing on ‘Science & Technology: Rural Development’.

There are 26 plenary sessions for the science buffs. Women, Farmers, Children, and Science communicators have unique deliberations during this science congress. Pride of India exhibition has 130 participants exhibiting technologies, machinery, equipment, and science models.

The congress hosted for the first time focuses on innovation in integrated agriculture entrepreneurship, climate change, biodiversity, agrarian distress, rural bio-entrepreneurship, and policy issues. The three Technical Sessions on Agriculture around ten innovative farmers will present their views. ISCA introduced a comprehensive mobile app ISC 2020 UASB to provide details of all the sessions.

German Physicist, Prof. Stefan Hell and Prof. Ada E. Yonath from Israel are the Nobel Laureates who are participating in the congress.

Besides, many senior Scientists from India and abroad along with various government officials are a part of this event to discuss their opinions on a range of scientific issues, both at the national and international level.

The five days will witness a large number of visitors from the corporate sector, scientific fraternity, and academia, R&D institutes, defense, government, PSUs to name a few.
