Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, India’s farm exports increased 23.24% in value terms to Rs 25,552.7 crore during March-June period, the Agriculture Ministry said.
In order to promote farm exports, a ‘comprehensive action plan’ (CAP) has been prepared under which existing agri-clusters are being strengthened and certain destinations are being identified for promotion of agricultural exports.
As per WTO’s trade statistics, the share of India’s agri-exports and imports in the international agriculture trade in 2017 was 2.27% and 1.90%, respectively.
