Rwanda: FAO signs agreement with JR Farms to support youth-led initiatives in agribusiness

In order to promote youth involvement in farming and create decent work opportunities, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rwanda signed an agreement with JR Farms Limited.

“This important partnership with JR Farms will open up new opportunities for young people in agriculture and agribusiness to create decent work, improve livelihoods and boost food security,” said FAO Representative in Rwanda Gualbert Gbehounou.

Notably, JR Farms is an agricultural enterprise operating  in countries like Rwanda, Nigeria and Zambia in the field of food processing, agro commodity trading and consulting.

The partnership is in line with the UN food agency’s new Strategy for Private Sector Engagement (2021-2025).
