In its annual report, Lux Research’s “Foresight 2021″ report identified and ranked 12 key technologies – based on innovation interest scores from the Lux Tech Signal – that will reshape the world.
Notably, the technologies are selected from a variety of innovation data sources, along with input from Lux’s experts.
Besides highlighting the key overall technologies, this year’s report, for the first time ever, ranked the top five technologies in the food and agriculture space i.e.
- Alternative Proteins
- Precision Agriculture
- Ingredient Informatics
“The agrifood ecosystem is experiencing a phase of rapid, intense change, where most of the growth in the space in recent years has gone to companies outside the top 20 players. As smaller and more agile brands meet consumer demand for personalisation, larger brands will need to look for innovative solutions to regain lost ground and get ahead,” said Joshua Haslun, Ph.D., Senior Analyst at Lux Research.
