To give a fillip to the Indian government’s Skill India initiative, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a leading Indian producer of chemicals and fertilizers, has begun collaborating with Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) to train youth in various trades in order to increase the chances of their employability in heavy and processing industries

Recently, the company’s Nangal plant located in Punjab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with ITI Nangal to train youth in 12 trades. The MoU was exchanged between Ms Renu R P Singh DGM (HR) I/c, NFL Nangal unit and Sh Lalit Mohan, Principal of ITI, Nangal.

Under this training scheme, students will learn theoretical skills at the institute and receive on-the-job training at the plant.

It is worth noting that ITI, Nangal is one of the oldest institutes in the Indian state of Punjab.

With this MoU, the NFL has become the first CPSE (Central Public Sector Enterprise) to take this initiative in the state of Punjab.

According to sources, the company is planning to explore more such options in future.
