Wilco, a farmer-owned cooperative, purchases Diess Feed and Seed in Eugene, Oregon and will operate the current store until relocating to a new location less than a mile away in the spring of 2024.

MT. ANGEL, Ore., July 2nd, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Wilco, a farmer-owned cooperative, announced today that they will be acquiring Diess Feed in Eugene, OR, effective July 1, 2023. The purchase is taking place after Wilco has been helping operate the Diess Feed location the past year, and the Diess location at 5590 W 11th will stay operational while a new Wilco Farm Store is being built at 4818 W 11th Avenue, Eugene. The new store is currently under construction on the west edge of Eugene, near the Walmart and Target stores and less than a mile away from Diess.

Diess Feed & Seed will continue to operate in the current location until the new Wilco store opens in the spring of 2024. “We’re excited about this location, which is right down the road from Diess and we look forward to the challenge of carrying on the service, tradition and values that Diess Feed has carried on in the community for over 20 years,” said TJ Colson, President of Wilco Stores.

“Having family who has worked for Wilco over the years, we were able to see firsthand how Wilco lived their mission and values and we were able to see their commitment to supporting agriculture and local communities. Taking everything into consideration, Allison and I knew our customers, employees, and community will be left in great hands,” said Mike Lengele, owner of Diess Feed & Seed. “It has been an exciting and rewarding experience to serve this area and our wonderful customers and we now look forward to more time with family,” he added.

The Eugene Wilco will be the sixteenth location in Oregon and complements the Springfield, OR location in the southern Willamette Valley. This is Wilco’s 26th location throughout Washington, Oregon and California. It will include all five signature departments they are famous for:

  • Lawn & Garden with a greenhouse for plants
  • Work & Western Wear & Boots
  • Pet Supplies and Dog Grooming
  • True Value Hardware & Benjamin Moore Paint
  • Farm, Fencing, & Feed featuring Purina
