India to fund 112 agritech startups under the Innovation and Agri-entrepreneurship Development Programme

Indian Minister for Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar stated the Indian government will fund 112 startups in the first phase, under the Innovation and Agri-entrepreneurship Development Programme launched under the revamped Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.

The funds will be released in instalments, and the selected startups have been trained for two months at 29 agribusiness incubation centres spread across India, the minister said in a statement.

With a sum of Rs 11.85 crore in the current financial year, the government has identified 5 knowledge partners as centres of excellence, and 24 RKVY-RAFTAAR agribusiness incubators (R-ABIs).
