Commercialization Agreement for insect-resistant GMO corn gene announced by Origin Agritech

Origin Agritech Ltd entered into a commercialization agreement with Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences for a new generation insect-resistant GMO corn gene.

Under the framework of the agreement, the parties would continue to work jointly and intend to file for patents together on the transgenic corn and other crops created from this gene.

Origin would be responsible for obtaining a bio-safety certificate that is an important step required before commercialization in China.
