After Project Tiger & Project Elephant, India to launch project for conservation of dolphins
Indian PM Narendra Modi has announced a conservation project for the Gangetic Dolphins ten years after the species were declared national aquatic animals.
The ‘Project Dolphin’ aims to give a stronger impetus for conservation of the aquatic mammals in rivers and oceans of the country.
It is to be noted that the Gangetic river dolphin is a species of freshwater dolphins mainly found in the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers and their tributaries.
