ADB’s $50 MILLION PUSH to fund PPP infra projects in Bangladesh
To fund public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $50 million loan to the government of the South Asian country.
“As the country starts to recover from the severe impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, PPP will emerge as an important tool to leverage private sector resources to develop infrastructure and create jobs,” said the bank’s Principal Financial Sector Specialist Dongdong Zhang.
Earlier in May, the regional lender approved an additional $500 million loan to bolster the efforts of Bangladesh to manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nation’s economy as well as the public health.
