The Malaysian government is considering to approach the World Trade Organisation (WTO) against the European Union’s restrictions on palm oil biofuel by this year.

“Malaysia is adamant and steadfast in taking legal action against the EU on its discrimination towards Malaysian palm oil,” said Deputy Commodities Minister Willie Mongin.

Malaysia is the world’s second-largest palm oil producer and exporter.
