At a press briefing on Thursday, Environment and Food Minister Mogens Jensen stated fresh cases have been reported at over 40 mink farms and another 20 were believed to be affected, totalling up to 1 million minks.

As a precautionary measure, the culling will include farms situated within 5 miles of a farm with infected mink, Reuters reported.

Cases of mink with COVID-19 were identified in Spain and the Netherlands also. Although animals didn’t exhibit any symptoms, thousands have been culled to prevent farmers becoming infected.
