To make sure that the farmers of the country do not suffer, Modi-led government has come out with some of exemptions and relaxations for agriculture and related fields keeping in mind the 21-day lockdown over the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
The Union ministry of home affairs released the 4th Addendum to its notification invoking the Disaster Management Act, according to which the shops of agricultural machinery, its spare parts (including its supply chain) and repairs and shops for truck repairs on highways, most likely at fuel pumps, can stay open in order to give transportation of farm produce.
Also, the government added that the tea industry, including plantations can operate with not more than 50 percent workers.
The MHA has noted that the head of the company has to make sure that their organisation and workers follow social distancing norms and proper hygiene.
