To accelerate the development of its sensor-less irrigation system, Israeli agtech startup SupPlant has secured $10 million in a funding round led by Menomadin Foundation, Boresight Capital, Smart-Agro Fund and Mivtah Shamir.
The startup’s cutting-edge technology monitors water content, the stress of the plant, and growth patterns of crops. Subsequently, this data is then combined with real-time climatic data and expected plant growth patterns.
All information gets uploaded every 10 minutes to an algorithm that disseminates useful irrigation recommendations to farmers to help prepare for inclement weather.
Founded in 2012 by Zohar Ben Ner, the recent round brings the firm’s total raised capital to approximately $19 million so far.
